Many of its alumni have gone on to produce their own short films and serve as crew members in major industry feature films.
The camp provides intensive hands on training for children between the age of 6 to 12 and teenagers form 13 to 19, equipping them with skills in various aspects of filmmaking, participants receive training in screenplay writing, directing, continuity, acting, Cinematography, editing, and animation.
Beyond just teaching filmmaking, Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp fosters a wholesome learning environment where young creatives not only hone their craft but also grow spiritually and socially, Many past participants have testified to the life changing experience they had at the camp, emphasizing the impact it has had on their careers, social lives, and faith.
Karen Iwara: “Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp was a game-changer for me. I learned the fundamentals of filmmaking, from scriptwriting to editing, and even got to act in a few short skits, movies and also as a crew member. The filmmaking program at Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp was incredibly comprehensive. I gained confidence in my ability to work behind the scenes.
“Now, I’m known for my work as a Makeup artist and also an actress anywhere I go. All thanks to DEEP THOUGHTS LIGHTHOUSE CAMP for bringing out those potentials in me. Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp was so much more than just a filmmaking program, it was a chance to connect with like-minded people and have the time of my life. I made friends from all over the world and still keep in touch with most of them today.
“The camp was an absolute blast. We had movie nights, game nights, and even a talent show. It was amazing to see everyone’s creative sides shine.
At first, I was a bit nervous and shy about meeting new people, seeing different things and exploring but the atmosphere at Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp was so welcoming and inclusive, which even increased my social life.
Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp was a transformative experience that went far beyond just filmmaking. The camp’s focus on character development and spiritual growth helped me connect with my values and passions on a deeper level.
I learned to trust myself and my abilities, and I’ve since seen a huge shift in my confidence and self-esteem.
My quiet time with God before and Now is totally different. Now when I see young teenagers taking God’s things sluggishly, it’s just irritate me.
All thanks to DEEP THOUGHTS LIGHTHOUSE CAMP for building up my spiritual life.
Deep Thoughts Lighthouse Camp was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations in every way. I learned, I grew, and I made lifelong connections. It was and is a perfect blend of learning, fun, and personal growth. I feel so grateful to have been a part of it and can’t wait to see what the future holds. It was also a turning point in my life, It helped me discover my passions, develop my skills, and connect with like-minded people. I’ll always treasure the memories and lessons from DEEP THOUGHTS CAMP ACADEMY.
I’m super happy that I and my brother (Gideon) are part and will continue to be a member of the DEEP THOUGHTS FAMILY.
God blessings shall continually be upon the founder and her households and Deep Thoughts as a whole.”
David Justin Okenwa: “Deep thoughts lighthouse camp has had a great impact in my life in different ramifications.
We had the opportunity of learning from some of the best actors in the industry which I’ve applied in my school whenever we’re asked to act.
I’ve been able to build my prayer life to be better than it was and also learning how to pray very well and also acknowledging God.
I’ve always been a jovial chap and I’ve always loved having fun. All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. So I saw the park we went to as a time to connect with everyone socially and not only focusing on our phones as we do in this generation.
It was a nice experience I must say. I didn’t like it my first day there but at closing stages I wished there could be more time. God bless y’all.
Jemimah Adeniyi:Deep Thoughts camp has helped my life in so many ways. Deep Thoughts has helped my spiritual life (fire). I can testify that there is a huge difference between my spiritual life back then and now. Camp has helped me build a name in the path of Christ.
Camp has also helped my social life (Fun).
My social life has become more interesting and I have made good friends in my line and passion.
Lastly Deep Thoughts camp has helped develop my passion in acting (Film making).
I have passion for film making and I am glad I found a good platform to help me groom that . Deep Thoughts has given me a name to be known to be an actress in the Gospel line. Deep Thoughts has also built my name in Christ.
I am so glad to be part of the Deep Thoughts family.”
Fopefoluwa: “Years ago, my mother told me about Deep Thoughts camps and signed me up because of my love for acting. I never knew then how much of a blessing it would be.
Through Deep Thoughts, I made incredible friends, acted in short skits, and learned so much that it opened doors for me to act in their films. This wasn’t just about acting; it was about exposure—to Christian celebrities, onset experience, and a community that felt like family.
I’ve always loved acting, but one fear held me back: losing my faith while navigating Nollywood, where secular themes often overshadow the sacred. But Deep Thoughts changed that. Here, I found a place where my passion and purpose could coexist.
I can be shy, but being on set has pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me grow—not just as an actress but in my relationship with Jesus as a Christian actress.”
Ayoade: : “If I’m to count the blessings of life and what God has really used to change my life, Deep Thoughts would be top on my list. I remember still going to see Mummy Opeyemi few weeks ago just to tell her thank you for Deep Thoughts Ministry and I’m so grateful to God for the privilege to be a lighter.
I’ve been part of the Deep Thoughts community for more than three years and there has been a significant difference in my life. The game changer for me was Deep Thoughts August 2024 camp, I remember going to that camp very down and feeling very guilty but I knew I was at the right place to get to know God more and have a better relationship with him and truly I left that camp a different person entirely.
My spiritual life has bloomed so much, I’ve met a lot of friends and amazing people even up to the volunteers, I’ve had the opportunity to learn how to act and actually act in Deep Thoughts productions and feature in some music videos(a very big flex).
I’ve also learnt financial skills, how to handle life beautifully and gracefully as a teenager and most importantly how to intercede and have a better relationship with God and I would be eternally grateful to God for Deep Thoughts and for Mummy Ope, may God continue to bless Deep Thoughts.
Adekanbi Tomilola:
Deep thoughts camp I would say is the best thing that happened to me.
I started attending the camp around 2021 December and at first I was not happy to go when my mum told me about it and now it’s been 5 year already and I always look forward to every camp. The camp has affected my life positively in different aspects especially in the aspect of filmmaking, fun and Fire.
Everytime I am at the Deep Thoughts camp i get the opportunity to act in short skit and i learn new things about the filming making world things like photography, script writing and many more I was Also privileged to be an assistance set designer in recent Deep Thoughts movies everytime I remember am always saying thank you God and Thank you Mummy ope cause I learnt a lot of things while assisting in the set designer department.
My spiritual life change so much after attending 2 camps specifically during the one month camp I attended I remember giving my life to God the night before we were supposed to go home August 2022l. And since then my walk with God has changed I don’t get forced to do my quite time and to communicate with God on a daily basis.
It’s is always fun in the light house cause I made friends during the camp. And we get to sometimes go to places that we experience fun in full.
People that knew me before I attended the Deep Thoughts camp would be able to testify I was a very quite and very reserved in fact I could count the amount of people I spoke to during my first two camp but now I associate more with people people see me now and they are like we thank God for your life.
Another experience I would never ever forget was when I was on the location of HHI ( Him Her and I) I was in the welfare department at that time and I had an upcoming exam that i was supposed to write during the duration of the location. I remember vividly mummy Ope will tell me to go to a separate room from where they are shooting to read my book and at the end of the shoot that day she would assign one of our teachers to ask me what I read that day and to the Glory of God I was able to pass the exam in one sitting and I used the results to gain admission into the school an currently in
I so much love Deep Thoughts and am so happy to be a part of the Deep Thoughts family.
Fire sessions, fun, and filmmaking-it’s more than just a camp. I love the worship moments!
Through Deep Thoughts, God has turned my acting dreams into reality. I’ve been blessed to act in their films like Hook-up Geng, When God Is Silent, I Dare Say No, and Should We Kiss?
