“The stone which the builders despised and refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’s doing; It is marvellous in our eyes.”
This best describes veteran gospel filmmakers, Evang. Kolade and Sunmbo Segun-Okeowo as they celebrate 30 years on stage and gospel filmmaking.
In a Statement entitled ‘It Has Been 30 Years on Stage. 30 Years of Making Gospel Films,’ obtained by Gospel Film News, the filmmaker noted that “We started very rough, very unpredictable, very hazy & uncertain, not many gave us hope, some said it won’t last. A man of God said Two years !!!”
“Alas it is 30 years!!! Thirty solid years of faith, acting gospel drama, shooting films galore, building Film Villages and training Drama Ministers,” he stated.
He stressed that they are blessed, honoured and respected everywhere today.
“Thank God for the journey, today we are blessed, honoured & respected everywhere, fruits abiding with testimonies, celebrations and accolades, Children doing well. Thank God for the few who saw it, nurtured and mentored.
They saw hope and a future in us, they helped fan up the flames, prayed for us and supported, they saw the seed and watered it.”
He reiterated that the likes of Bishop Jonathan Alao, Bishop Segun Oladimeji, Evang. Mike Bamiloye, Revrd Olasunmbo Ige, Pastor Odun Orioke, Pastor Frank Aina, Prof. Femi Soetan, Dr. Greg Ehrahbor, Pastor Nat Adejuwon and many others were those who saw the prospects in them, prayed for them and mentored them.
Kolade and Sunmbo Segun-Okeowo are the President and Vice President of Christoline Ministries and CEO/MD of Zionstones Media.
