The General Overseer and Founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. D.K Olukoya has stated that it is hightime we stop being politically correct but scripturally correct in Nigeria.
He stated this recently in Lagos at the movie premiere of Stepping Into Maggie’s Shoe written by Opeyemi Ojerinde Akintunde.
“On behalf of my wonderful wife and my son and the entire pastorate of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries you are most warmly welcome to this occassion.
I give glory to God for all the children of God who have taken time out of their busy schedule to grace this occassion. I’m particularly excited and inspired that this is a meeting of God’s children from all walks of life.
I’ve met so many of you since i came and i’m excited that i met you,” he said.
According to Gospel Film News correspondent who was live at the premiere, Olukoya noted that for agies, the media has been a medium of influence in the society, saying film and music most importantly have a strongest impact on the character and way of life on the general populace which can be attributed to the copycat nature of man.
The MFM General Overseer added that movie is a tool of social engineering which explains why our society has been flogging with violence, immorality, robbery and all kinds of hills due to the perversive increase in immoral movies.
Olukoya described the movie, Stepping Into Maggie’s Shoe which was cooked together by two of his daughters in the vineyard as life changing. He reiterated that the movie which is an adaptation of the novel written by Opeyemi Akintunde aims to correct, heal, influence, educate, restore and retrace the steps of memebers of the body of Christ to the cross.
Gospel Film News correspondent reports that Olukoya emphatically said the film is not intended to condemn anyone but serves as a source of hope and reminds us that like the prodigal son we can still retrace our steps into our loving father’s embrace as Jesus is eagerly waiting to restore unto us the joy of salvation.
The script, according to him testifies that there is still a balm in gilead to heal and bind every wounded, broken heart and deliver every soul from hell.
He continued: “The movie seems to provide encouragement and sucur to all those who are saved genuinely holding the flag of Jesus but are daily tempted to join the bad wagon of those who have suffered setback in walk with God as it exposes the crippling and destructive dangers of sin in their personal lives and ministry.
“As we recruit men and women into the fold through the grace of salvation we must delibrately teach and equip them to advance the course of christianity in their little corner of influence. It is hightime we stop being politically correct but scripturally correct.”
Olukoya concluded his speech by praying that the good Lord will use this project and other similar initiatives to revive His church and to make us worthy ambassadors of Christ in our various sphere of human endeavour. “This is a test we must collectively execute for Christ. I thank you and i believe God that you will be inspired and enjoy the rest of evening and you will gain alot from the movie. May the Lord continue to bless you mightily in the name of Jesus,” he concluded.
