Seyi Pedro-Adetola is known for excellent acting. Divers roles she played in gospel films really shows that she can fit in for any role. She is also a film producer. In this exclusive interview with Gospel Film News publisher, Oluwafemi Dosu, she opens up on her academic and professional background and disclosed her support for gospel films in cinema among others. Excerpt:
Can we meet you?
I’m ‘Seyi Pedro-Adetola, a second child of the family of three, added to the family of Elder & Deacons Segun Amusan on 27th October, few decades ago. I’m a native of OYAN in Odo-otin LG of Osun state. I grew up in Osun state, Ikirun and Osogbo precisely.
Could you please lead us into your academic and professional background?
I had my primary school education at C.A.C. Primary school, Ikirun. I attended three secondary schools; Holy Michael High School, Ikirun, St’ James Secondary school, Osogbo and School of Science, Ikirun. I proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso for my first degree where I studied AGRONOMY, and University of Ibadan for M.sc in Plant genetics. As a trained Agriculturist, I worked with OSUN STATE FADAMA 111 project before I resigned & became a full time drama minister. Mainly, I attended TRECOM film school and Mount Zion Christian drama institute and few other trainings in Christian film production..still learning.
What other thing do you do apart from film making?
I’m just setting up a farm
What can you say about the kind of gospel films being produced this days?
They are more inspirational and of better quality.. I mean the ones I HAVE SEEN.
What is your take about showing gospel films in cinema?
I’m in support 100% as long as there is A SOUL there even if they are not in thousands.
How do you think gospel films can reach a larger audience?
Make it available everywhere through social media, TV stations, street, cinema, churches, public places.. I mean everywhere you can find man. Many movies are produced but not available. May God help US.. including myself.
What is your advice for upcoming film makers?
Continue to be faithful in that which the Lord has committed into your hand.
