Drama Evangelism has been proved to have no boundary over the years. In line with this, a northern-based gospel filmmaker, Evang. Felix Bankole has taken Drama Evangelism to Benin Republic. In this interview with Oluwafemi Dosu yesterday 27th of February, 2020 Felix Bankole shared his experience in the republic of Benin; how he showed Abejoye at a crusade, trained Beninoise, shots movie in their language, among others. Excerpt:
CAN YOU GIVE US SITUATIONAL REPORT OVER THERE?
Did training today for the Francophones and to start shooting tomorrow by His grace.
We trained the Egun people and shot in their language too. We traveled to Port Novo for a meeting and arrived Cotonou today at the Universitë Abormey Calavi, started training them today in English while my interpreter spoke French using a Redeem Church as a Venue and to start Shooting a French Campus movie tomorrow.
This evening we premiered Abejoye season 3 at Open air crusade at Seme border. We have to traveled back to the border and to travel to Cotonou as early as possible.
SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?
Since Thursday last week and entered straight to a 3 days crusade at Dogbozukame village and returned back to Tattonokon on Sunday.
We started training the Egun people on Monday, started shooting same evening a movie in Egun language titled “Jombolo” The village witch.
HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO TRAIN THEM CONSIDERING LANGUAGE BARRIER?
I did the Crusade in Yoruba, trained them in Yoruba while my interpreter spoke Egun to those who don’t understand Yoruba. But more than 50 percent speak Yoruba.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE TRAINED?
We have had 9 people in attendance today but some students will join us tomorrow.
WHEN ARE YOU PLANNING TO LEAVE BENIN REPUBLIC?
Will be leaving on Monday when we finish with them
ARE YOU BASED IN COTONOU OVER THERE OR PORT NOVO?
I’ve been moving around. I arrived Plateau region to Port Novo, Cotonou to Seme and would be going to Calvin for location
