“Far be it from me, that I should say you are right; till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.” Job 27:5.
Integrity is moral soundness. It has to do with doing what you said you will do, doing it when you said you will do it and standing by what you did.
You cannot know the character of some people until situation changes for them. When you become successful in life, marriage, businesses, ministry, spiritually, etc, will you still be the same person they knew you to be? The Psalmist said “Now in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.” Psalms 30:6.
God forbid that challenges had to come like Job, will you still hold your integrity? When advise begins to troop in from every quarter that “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? curse God and die!” What will your response be?
In spite the severity of Job’s trial, he said, “Let me be weighed on honest scales, That God may know my integrity.” Job 31:6.
In every of our duty posts in life, can God still trust us? Can He be proud of us as leaders and followers? Will our motive be the same come rain or sunshine? A lot of people claim to be born again today than yesteryears, but the missing factor in todays Christianity is integrity. Compromise has being the order of the day.
If you put unbeliever in a place, you know how to deal with him because you know he is unbeliever, but when we put professed child of God there and he does worse than what is expected of unbeliever, what can we call that?
A lot of Christians today are making heaven sad. Hope you are not one of them? If you are, change.
The question of integrity is uppermost in the walk of David with the Lord. We can take a cue from him as he beared his mind thus, “The Lord shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.” Psalms 7:8.
“Vindicate me, O Lord, For I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the Lord; I shall not slip.” Psalms 26:1.
“But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; Redeem me and be merciful to me.” Psalms 26:11.
“As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever.” Psalms 41:12.
God is looking for His child who will say, in both day and night, dry season and raining season, hill and valley, abundance and lack, success and failure, joy and sorrow etc, I will go with God all the way in integrity. My integrity will never change.
Prayer: Father, make me someone of sound moral in every season of life in Jesus name.
