Suspected hoodlums unleashed an attack on Drama Minister and Senior Lecturer at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Evang. Abiola Jesulowo on Saturday 22nd of May, 2021.
Jesulowo, while coming from a ministration at Ogbomoso with his wife and children, was attacked at IDI-ATA, near ERUWA, Oyo State around 6:45pm, Gospel Film News gathered.
According to him, it took divine intervention for them to finally escape.
While responding to an interview with Gospel Film News correspondent today, Jesulowo revealed that the hoodlums already chased Police Officers out of their check point and the officers had no choice than to run for their dear lives.
“What made us pass was that we saw them from afar off but we never knew there was a problem because motorcycles (bikes) were allowed to pass, so we thought maybe they will just pass us when we get to them. All of a sudden they berged to front of the car shouting that we should park and they started using big metals and wood to hit our car, wanting to force the door open. One of them sighted me and asked others to leave us that I’m a lecturer but they turned deaf ears, making attempt to pull my daughter out of the vehicle, so when he (the one who said they should leave us) now saw that it became tensed he now asked us to move, so my son who drove the car now zoomed off. That was how we escaped,” he told our correspondent.
He also narrated that the hoodlums rough handled his daughter when they attempted to pull her down from the vehicle, adding that they snatched and tore the English Language note she was reading in preparations for a test on Monday.
Jesulowo further explained that: “they smashed our car with different rods and stones but God delivered us. I don’t know what this country is becoming. People are no longer safe. I handover those people that attacked us into God’s hand. May God have mercy on them. Help us thank God for the miraculous deliverance from injury and death.”
