Numbers 14:22-24 KJV
[22] Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;
[23] Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
[24] But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
Did you read that the descendants of Caleb shall reap from the obedience of their father who followed The Lord fully? And do you, therefore, realize that our children are directly or indirectly reaping from our decision to either follow or not to follow The Lord fully with all our heart? The implication of this is that, at times, we could be the direct causes of the headache our children are giving to us. When you don’t follow The Lord fully, the result indirectly rubs on our children.
When the Lord called Abraham out of his country, God said He would bless him and make him a great nation, but never mentioned anything about his Seed.
Genesis 12:1-3,5,7 KJV
[1] Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
However, the moment he obeyed the Lord and went on the journey to the land of uncertainty and unknown by faith, and got to the land, the Lord came to him again and spoke:
[5] And Abram took Sarai his wife,….and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
[7] And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord , who appeared unto him.
After he had obeyed the Lord and followed His instructions to go a land he knew not and sojourn; and after he got to that land, the Lord extended His covenant to his children after him. Every act of dedication and obedience to the instruction of the Lord, therefore, results on some blessings upon your children. So also is every act of refusal to follow the Lord’s instructions could result in some sorts of problems and curses upon your children.
2 Kings 5:26-27 KJV
[26] And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee , when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?
[27] The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
Gehazi, the servant of Elisha had stubbornly refused to follow the Lord’s instructions through his master. But the consequences came upon him and his Seed FOREVER. And here is what the Psalmist says about the Righteous and his children:
Psalm 37:25-26 KJV
[25] I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
[26] He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
May the Lord help us to follow the Lord fully with all our heart and mind, so that The Blessing of Following can spread over our children. So that our children could enjoy the covenant of Mercy and Favor that would come upon us.
Do you know that doubting the Word and instructions of The Lord for your life translates into not following The Lord fully. Each time you disobey His Words and specific Instructions for your life, you have indicated you are not following Him fully. An entire generation of Israel were cut off from getting to their destination because they did not fully follow The Lord.
Numbers 32:11
Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me,
Do you know what The Lord said about King Saul:
1 Samuel 15:11
“I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back
from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.”
Is this not exactly the same way The Lord is feeling over some of His children whom He has promoted and lifted up and blessed financially and materially? They got to the positions without fulfilling the purpose of their being there. They lost focus and derailed in their plans. He had given them good jobs after graduation so that they might influence the top management to do the right thing, but they have been influenced to their side instead. Because they have not full followed The Lord, and performed all His commandment for putting them there, they would definitely be replaced with a David who would perform all that are in the heart of God.
Are you fully following The Lord concerning your ministry? Or you are doing things according to the dictate of your personal reasoning. Are you doing exactly what He asked you to do with the movies you did? For instance, did He tell you to go to the campuses or villages or churches with the new movie you just made or He directed you to release it immediately?. Did He tell you to give Him the First Fruit of the ministry and you have spent it for your self? Did He tell you to increase your tithes and you have not done so? What are the things He told you to do and you have not done? They are all indications of either FOLLOWING HIM or not.
Finally, keep this verse of the scripture in your heart:
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world.
He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
When you learn to FOLLOW The Lord fully with all your heart, you will not walk in darkness. The light of The Lord will flood your path. You will not be walking in your understanding, but in the wisdom of God. Do you know that when you learn to follow His instructions fully with all your heart, something else follows you also?
Psalms 23:6
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
When you follow The Lord, you attract GOODNESS and MERCY all the days of your life.
