The Caleb University, Imota, Lagos has appointed Prof. Olalekan Asikhia as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation, Strategy and Administration, Gospel Film News can confirm.
The institution has also renewed the tenure of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adedeji Daramola, for a second term in office.
A statement on Monday, by the institution’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Mr Olawale Adekoya, explained that with this development, Daramola would serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academics while Asikhia would serve as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation, Strategy and Administration.
“Prof. Samuel Daramola, a recipient of the prestigious World Bank Study Fellowship for multidisciplinary doctoral research in University of Newcastle, United Kingdom, is the first Professor of Architecture with specialisation on Nomadic Housing in the world.
“Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, an erudite Professor, possesses double Doctorates and double Masters degrees. Asikhia is a Professor of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Business Administration and Marketing, School of Management, Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, where he was former HOD and acting Dean,” the statement partly reads.
The Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, described the appointment of Asikhia, as “a recognition of his professional and academic track record, and his contributions as a gospel drama evangelist, as one of the pioneers of Mount Zion Films, which makes him a right fit in the learning and character mantra of Caleb University”.
According to Owens-Ibie, Daramola’s renewal of tenure is “an acknowledgement and appreciation of his contributions in the first two years as DVC.”
