The Lagos State Chapter of the All Nigeria Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers, Lagos State Chapter has announced postponement of her annual conference.
A statement issued by chairman of the association, Evang. Mayowa Oladeji earlier today says the postponement is a necessary move at a time like this, Gospel Film News confirmed.
The Congress which was schedule from 16th to 18th February of physical meeting has now been reduced to two days; a day online and one day physical.
He added that following the address of the President on Thursday which brought about unrest in Lagos, the association felt it necessary to postpone the Congress.
In his words:
“We thought all the unrest and cash scarcity would die down soon. We thought the Government would be able to solve the lingering issues across the nation. We adjusted the congress from three days of physical gathering to a day of online and a day of physical gathering.
“Still, the situations in the nation have plummeted to protests and agitations on the streets especially Lagos State, our jurisdiction,” he stressed.
He said a call came in from a respected end confirming their worries about the safety and readiness of the members for the congress, adding that they must be sensitive to the society and be mindful of the security and convenience of the members of the association.
“It becomes necessary for us to POSTPONE the annual congress which we ought to commence yesterday. We regret inconvenience this would cause, especially to the hard-working Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Unit who is the host.”
The chairman reiterated that the move become necessary for the security of lives and better, solid execution of plans already made by the unit, BOSEC, and Elders in the congress.
He also promised to keep people posted on the new date.
