Adeboye’s Tithing Apology: Nigerian Filmmakers Share Thoughts

In the ongoing mixed reactions to the public apology of RCCG’s General Overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye on tithing, Nigerian gospel filmmakers have shared their thoughts.

Adeboye also said ten percent (10%) is for beginners. Gospel Film News therefore gathered different thoughts and opinions of Gospel filmmakers on the apology of the RCCG G.O. Excerpt:

Let me refresh You!
MY FATHER, DADDY E.A..ADEBOYE ALSO SAID:
“It is wrong to limit you to 10%
At a time when some of you should be at 20%, 30%, 40%.
10% should be for Beginners.
You want to be the One at the top?,
If you are the one who would control finances, you will have to go far far beyond 10%. “
I NEVER NEVER EVER EXPECT THE CHILDREN OF THIS WORLD TO UNDERSTAND THE PRINCIPLES OF THE KINGDOM.
It is beyond their Reasoning.

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”.
But if you are a Child of the kingdom of God, going to Heaven and Expecting the Coming of Jesus Christ, I DO NOT expect you to have problems with those statement.
BUT IF YOU STILL DO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH WHAT BABA SAID, then your Spiritual Sanctification is very Doubtful.
Prophet Samuel made mistake when he was sent to anoint a son of Jesse as kong of Israel. He looked physically at the first born and wanted to anoint him: he said, “Behold, the Lord’s anointed is here.” The Lord said, No, I have not chosen this one!”All the sons Prophet Samuel thought was the choice was each rejected by God until David came and God said “Arise, and anoint him”
Daddy E.A. Adeboye made a statement and the Lord CORRECTED HIM before he came out in the open to Correct Himself at the Lord’s Instruction.
You think it is easy for a man of such Global Status to come out in the open to apologize, if God had not Corrected Him in the secret?
It is only a Person who has Heaven in Focus and Eternity in Heaven in view that would count it important to do that.
If you like, make jest of him,
If you like Drag him on the ground for doing what the Lord had instructed him to do.
BABA HAS HEAVEN IN HIS FOCUS and that is why he doesnt care about Earthly Honor or human ego.
IT TAKES HUMILITY FOR A MAN OF GLOBAL STATUS AS THIS TO COME OUT AND APOLOGIZE.
Only God could have spoken to such man.
Because, God resist the Proud but gives grace to the Humble. (James 4:6).
My Father has just received more Grace from God for his Humility in doing this.
WHAT IS THE LESSON I LEARNT IN DADDY E.A.ADEBOYE’S HUMBLE ACTIONS?
Are there Anything I have said Openly that the Lord has Corrected me Secretly?
I will be held accountable before God, unless I go back to make an open corrections of the Statement.
MEN OF GOD!
Preachers and Servants of the Most High!
What have you said openly that the Lord has corrected you in secret?
What have you done openly that the Lord has corrected you Secretly?
And what have you done e secretly, that the Lord had instructed you to confess openly?
What Restitution has the Lord told you to make that your Pride and Ego are still depriving you from making?
If you are serving the Lord with Fear and Trembling, and you are Eagerly looking towards getting to Heaven peacefully,
GO AND DO WHAT THE LORD TOLD YOU TO DO!
If the Lord has told you to make Open Apology or Confession,
You better go and do it now before it is too late.
GETTING TO HEAVEN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ALL YOUR PRIDE AND EGO!

My Father, the funniest thing is that, among us all, We dont even know who is getting to the Finishing Line first.
So it behoves us All to be Careful of whatever we Do or Say. Our Finishing Line may be in Few Minutes time when the Rapture Trumpet Sounds.

My only Point of Concern is:
How I will be allowed to come to your Heavily Magnificent Mansions in Heaven to shake your hand!
Too many Saints from across Nations that have known the Lord through you, that would want to greet you, and how I would be able to eventually get to your presence and you will recognize and shake my hand. I want you to remember I said this, when you see me there!

Daddy G.O. has achieved another milestone. He publicly apologised for what he said that was not biblical and corrected it. What a height of humility! He just earned my respect more. And more than that I am challenged to do better in my ministerial assignment. Ha! It is difficult to apologise on a pulpit stage. Ordinary wrong scriptural reference or details, to come back and correct it go dey do person somehow. And some don’t appreciate this that Baba did.
All their mind is still on this tithe thing. I got angry in my spirit on a platform when someone started calling Baba unprintable names for this apology that ought to be praised because Baba still reiterated he believed in tithing. Here is an except of my response:
…That you believe tithe should not be paid, must everyone believe that with you? Do you have the monopoly of doctrine of Christ? And must you demonise those who believe in tithe because you don’t believe in it? The only thing he corrected was tying tithing to making heaven.
He still says he believes in tithing. How does that make him a liar or a criminal? A big problem with many of you is that you don’t know how tithe is used and disbursed in these churches you condemn. You think they just collect tithe and take it to the house of the man of God. Eh-yah! You can do better! Kindly go make genuine findings and you will be surprised. You talk as if Pastor Adeboye and the likes live off tithes. Okay, continue.
Let me pause here. I can’t change you or what you believe. But be civil and courteous always. Even if you feel you will call people out, say what you feel they do without attaching appellations that will not be fair to such individuals. Pastor Adeboye is a respectable man of God and can be everything but not a professional liar or born criminal. Be guided…
